I love flipping through my photo files and playing with the pictures, but lately they've all started begging to be posted. "Pick me! Pick me!" they say. "Okay," I tell them, "but just for a little while." So here I am, ponying up one digital image a day, every day. (Click on any image to enlarge it.)
Janet, I found this information on a City of Savannah website:
"Question: What is spanish moss? Is it parasitic?"
"Answer: Spanish moss, Tillandsia usneoides, is called an epiphyte, which is a photosynthetic plant that grows upon other plants. They usually attach to a tree by rhizomes or roots and get support from the tree, but they do not parasitize it. Since epiphytes can photosynthesize, they are often found abundantly on dead or dying trees where more light is available to them. That is why people often assume that spanish moss is parasitic."

I like the effects!
Vicki, thanks. I love the way Photoshop Elements' artistic filters can save a blurry photo.
Spanish moss is pretty, but I always wondered if it chokes the trees?

Thanks for the info! That's interesting.
